Release of Master Plumbers Action Plan

The plumbing industry is vital to New Zealand's future. Public health, building and construction, and the environmental sustainability of our communities all rely on plumbing that is safe and efficient.
There are more than 13,000 plumbers, gasfitters and drainlayers who, together, contribute significantly to the national economy.
The past few years have tested the resilience of our industry, with significant damage to property and infrastructure resulting from storm events; critical workforce shortages; inefficient consenting processes; and unsafe plumbing products.
New Zealand is well overdue to fix these issues. Master Plumbers, with its unique insights, has identified the priority actions we believe are critical to the ongoing improvement of our industry and the safety of the communities we serve.
We are calling on all political parties and the Government to commit to our action plan to build a stronger plumbing industry and a safer community.
