Tradesman and Certifying classes to remain
15 May 2018
The PGDB recently consulted on whether to retain two classes of registration—Tradesman and Certifying.
It says the number and quality of submissions received gave it a good indication of the industry's views, and was of great help in its decision making.
The PGDB has resolved to keep the two classes of registration and remains of the view that having two classes of registration is an important part of protecting public health and safety in preventing damage to property and promoting the competency of people doing the work.
Retaining the two classes helps ensure that those who have not yet attained the Certifying level are adequately supervised until such time as they have sufficient training and experience.
