Ashley Carter
Board Intern – Appointed 2024
Ashley Carter was appointed as the inaugural Master Plumbers Board Intern in April 2024. Ashley is a Director at McIvor Plumbers & Gasfitters Wanaka Ltd, which undertakes commercial and residential new builds and renovations alongside specialist LPG reticulation services.
The company has been a member of Master Plumbers for 24 years, and was established by Ashley’s father Stu McIvor. Stu’s own father was also a Master Plumber, setting up McIvor Plumbers in Dunedin some 74 years ago.
Ashley has been President of the Master Plumbers Queenstown Lakes Branch since February 2024 and before this was a member of the Rockgas Franchise Advisory Council for four years, from 2019 to 2023.
It was during this time that she developed a passion for governance, which she is keen to develop. As a Master Plumbers Board Intern, Ashley will participate in the Governance Essentials course from the New Zealand Institute of Directors and will also receive mentoring from Master Plumbers Board members.
Her goal is to help make a difference in our industry and believes she is well placed to do so by working alongside and learning skills from the Board. Ashley sees the future of renewable gas and the potential impacts of AI in business operations as particular challenges for the industry in the time ahead.
