Felicity Caird
Appointed 2022
Deputy Chair from 2024
Felicity Caird is an independent director on the Master Plumbers board, bringing considerable governance experience and a valuable external perspective.
Felicity owns and runs her own consultancy business, working as a board and governance advisor for organisations across a range of industries. Prior to that, she spent eight years with the New Zealand Institute of Directors, most recently as General Manager of its Governance and Leadership Centre.
“The Institute of Directors is similar to Master Plumbers in that it’s also a membership organisation. It's all about the value add that the organisation brings to its members. It has a similar structure and way of operating through events, conferences, education, training and industry advocacy. I can offer Master Plumbers greater perspective in how other industries operate in these areas.”
As well as serving on the Master Plumbers Board, Felicity is a director of Masterlink, an independent member of the Racing New Zealand Board, and is the Chair of the Racing Safety Development Fund, which is a ministerial appointment.
“I’ve been part of a broad range of board discussions about challenges and approaches to things such as risks or advocacy. I’ve dealt with a lot of issues with other organisations, so I bring experience and understanding about the best ways for an organisation to govern itself, which I hope will add value to the Master Plumbers Board.”
